A day that would have gone well was finally struck by the conversation i had with my leader after Prayer Meeting. It was all good till my leader wanted a talk with me. In my heart, i was thinking will it be something bad again? Well, i must be the luckiest guy to win the lottery, from my leader.

How would you feel when the things you said are being misunderstood by your leader, and this time the thing said was on the leader herself!? Man, i wonder how would you react, now that you seem like a hypocritical person. Misinterpretation really make your life suffer. A comment turning to something that aims at your leader? How would it have felt if you are the one sitting there, listening to what she says and feeling so helpless because trying to defend yourself would mean that you are unteachable and always so defensive? Don't ask me why i said that, because i experienced it before.

This is what BRO KC has blogged, which i totally agree!

What is more important for a musician? Anointing or Competence. Many Christians will jump in saying anointing without putting much thoughts into the question. It always seem more correct to say that because it sounds more spiritual. Now I am not about to go into a big theological debate but I do sometimes wonder why some seemingly lazy musicians will use this as an excuse to cover up their incompetetnce, or worst, when they see a technically competent non Christian musician who plays better than them, they'll say "but we have the anointing!" as a way to excuse themselves and set themselves somewhat special. As if God cannot give talents to hardworking non-Christians.

While anointing can give you the special grace in playing and in ministering. It cannot always be a substitute for your lack of competence. God may work on our behalf when we first start out and are not adequate but if our attitude remains to be complacent and not seeking to improve, we'll grow stale sooner or later and do you think He'll reward our unfaithfulness in being His stewards?

I really do respect you as a leader, in fact one who has changed my life and make me a better person. I never see myself better than you, though at times i felt it could be better. But that doesn't mean that i think you are not good! It's totally rubbish! I never say i am better than you, and sometimes when you played, it makes me wonder am i as good as you. It's true. But i felt the above is quite important. Though Bro KC is a musician while we are not, but as guitarist i feel we have the responsibility to play good music and try to limit the errors as much as possible! Anointing and Skills to be are mutually exclusive. If really anointing rules everything, anyone would have be a guitarist. It's just like if you are a cell group leader for few years, it won't stop you from practicing and preaching your best sermon, isn't it? Anointed without getting the sermon across to the hearts of the people is no good, yes?

It's purely what i feel when i have said all those things. It could have been interpreted in a better way, but well, i guess i just got to keep my mouth SHUT. I learnt it the hard way.

Thanks to those who are concerned, really appreciate all the encouragement. I guess i'm the only one who can decide how things will go from here. Let's see how it will turn out to be like.
